The best presents are the ones that come from the heart.

I got an email from a mom who lives in Egypt who wanted to surprise her daughter living in San Francisco with a family photo session. This wasn't just any family photo session; it was actually a double birthday gift for the new mom—a celebration of her and her 1-year-old daughter's birthday together!

We started the session at their home overlooking the bay in SOMA to capture some fun moments playing and reading books. Dad was such a joy to work with—he really got into it, playing with his little girl and reading her favorite book, "Never Touch a Monster!"

We then headed to Sales Force Park for some family portraits outside and to enjoy the garden. It was so fun capturing their playful spirit! I loved watching them romp in the grass, touch the flowers and plants, and laugh so much together. The little girl was so sweet and loved to snuggle, too. She had the biggest beaming smile, and the yummiest looking dimpled cheeks! She was truly a joy. This was such a fun session and it really showed the love between these three.

I am so happy for this family and glad that I could capture this time in their lives. What a wonderful gift this was from a mother to her daughter and granddaughter.
