The air was warm, the sun lingered softly above the Pacific, and Karl the Fog was nowhere in sight. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening at Baker Beach. Lucky for me, I had the most adorable family to photograph. This family of five and I had a blast splashing in what usually is freezing water but on this night it felt refreshing to our feet. Even the family baby, who is just shy of a year old, was beaming when his mom and dad helped him walk into the water. The older kids, ages 5 and 7, were invigorated by the splashing waves and spent an hour running, twirling, jumping, and kart-wheeling along the shore. My favorite part of photographing this family though, was capturing tender moments and the pure joy that was felt from this magical, late-Summer, San Francisco night.
