How to Choose a Location for Your Bay Area Family Photo Session

The location of your photoshoot can play a significant role in the story of your photographs-- or not! It's up to you to decide if you want your images to show the full scene. In other words, I could photograph you and your family just about anywhere and focus almost entirely on your connection, leaving the location to be just a blur in the background. On the other hand, if you have a location significant to your family or somewhere you've always been drawn to, showing that through the images is a wonderful way to remember this time and place in your family's life.

Here are some questions to ask yourself that can help you choose a location that best suits your family:

  • Is there a place that you routinely go with your family?

  • Where does your child really light up?

  • What does a perfect day with your family look like?

  • Are there any activities you and your family love doing together?
