How to Have a Photo Session in the time of Covid

There’s no sugar coating it, 2020 has been a shitty year. The one thing that has truly continued to lift my spirits during this difficult time has been doing photoshoots (ok, and my new puppy, Charlie!). In all seriousness though, meeting new people in beautiful places has been extremely good for the soul. The people I’ve met have reminded me that there is so much life to celebrate and be grateful for, even in the darkest of times.

I’ve met and photographed couples who are expecting their first baby, families who just welcomed their first baby, couples who got married over Zoom, and sweet little faces who are so excited to play and have fun being a kid. We meet, make each other smile, and are reminded of what matters- the love and connection we have with our loved ones. I leave each session with a sense of hope and a huge smile on my face.

This is how I’ve been doing my photoshoots and making sure we’re all safe.

  • Family sessions are primarily held outdoors.

  • The location must have plenty of room to roam and explore.

  • We choose a time when there won’t be crowds.

  • I wear a mask and maintain 6ft of distance at all times.
