City Hall Wedding Photography FAQs

Can you be our witness?

Yes! In case you are eloping or visiting and don’t have a witness, I definitely can! It would be an honor.

My partner and I are camera shy. Can you help?

Absolutely. Many of my couples come to me saying they have no idea what to do, how to pose, or where to put their hands…and that is where I come in! I will guide you all the way through. My photo style is relaxed, fun, and natural making it easy for couples to be themselves. I also provide a pre-consultation in person or via Zoom so I can get to know you as a couple.

Most of the time, your focus will be on each other and your loved ones. My presence is calm and friendly, helping you feel at ease. When it comes time for portraits, you’ll feel comfortable, and I’ll gently guide you to make sure you look your best.

Can you photograph us getting ready before the wedding or afterward at a reception?

Yes, I can create a custom photo package to incorporate getting-ready photos, iconic San Francisco location portraits, and reception photos.

Do you photograph engagement photo sessions?

Yes! San Francisco has so many great locations for engagement photos, and an engagement session is a great way for us to meet before your wedding.

What’s the process at City Hall?

I was married at SF City Hall and will happily be your guide. Click HERE for the most updated information on how to get married at SF City Hall.

City Hall weddings need to be scheduled 90 days in advance, and you can make the appointment online. Make an appointment here.

The ceremony check-in process lasts about 15-minutes and the ceremony is a short and sweet 5-minutes. Together, we’ll spend about an hour taking photos around City Hall.

Do you offer wedding albums with your City Hall packages?

Albums are not included in the package, but you will have access to a high-quality print shop that is connected to your gallery. You can order albums, prints, frames, and gifts directly from your photo gallery.

Are there wedding vendors that you work with?

Yes, I am happy to offer suggestions for florists, makeup artists and hair stylists, and venues.

Which is better to reserve for one-hour weddings, the Mayor’s Balcony or the 4th Floor Gallery?

Neither option will disappoint, as they’re both beautiful spaces that provide some privacy for your ceremony. The Mayor’s Balcony offers a view of the grand staircase, Rotunda, and the other floors at City Hall. Weddings reserved on the 4th Floor Gallery feel more private, as you’re above all the action that’s going on down below.
